PCA Skin chemical peel in Dubai

A professional peel that lifts damaged surface cells so the skin renews more evenly. The formulation and strength are chosen for your skin type and concern, which matters a great deal on deeper skin tones.

What a chemical peel does

A chemical peel applies a professional solution to the skin to loosen and lift damaged cells at the surface. As those cells clear, the skin underneath is revealed with a more even tone and a smoother texture, and skin renewal is encouraged.

PCA Skin® is a range of peel formulations rather than a single product, which is the reason it is used here. Peels differ in what acids they contain and how deeply they work, and the correct choice depends on your skin type, what you are treating and how your skin has behaved in the past.

That assessment is not a formality. On richly pigmented skin, which is common in this region, a peel that is too aggressive can trigger post-inflammatory pigmentation and leave the skin looking worse than before. Choosing a conservative strength and building up is the safer path, and it is the one we take.

What a peel can be used for

Suitability and the specific peel are decided at consultation, after your skin type and history are assessed.

Tone and texture

Dull, tired-looking skin and uneven surface texture, where the aim is a brighter, smoother finish rather than a structural change.

Acne-prone skin and post-acne marks

Congestion and the flat brown or red marks left behind after a breakout has healed. Note that these marks are different from indented acne scars, which need a different treatment.

Pigmentation and sun-related change

Uneven pigmentation and surface changes from sun exposure. Pigmentation is the concern that needs the most caution and the most consistent sun protection afterwards, or it returns.

What to expect

Downtime depends entirely on the peel used. A light peel may leave the skin slightly pink for a day, while a stronger one can cause visible flaking over several days. You are told which to expect before treatment begins, so you can plan around it.

Sun protection afterwards is not optional, particularly if pigmentation is what you are treating. Picking or pulling at flaking skin is the most common cause of a poor result and of marks that then take months to settle.

  • Downtime varies with the peel; you are told beforehand
  • Do not pick or pull at flaking skin
  • Daily sun protection afterwards
  • Use the aftercare products recommended to you

Chemical peels — frequently asked questions

Is a chemical peel safe for darker skin tones?

It can be, with the right peel and the right strength. Deeper skin tones carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation if a peel is too aggressive, so the assessment matters more, the starting strength is usually lower, and sun protection afterwards is essential. If your skin is not suited to a peel, we will say so.

How much downtime is there?

It depends on the peel. Lighter peels may leave only brief pinkness, stronger ones can cause flaking for several days. This is discussed and agreed before treatment so it does not come as a surprise.

How many sessions will I need?

Peels usually work best as a short course rather than a single treatment, particularly for pigmentation and post-acne marks. The number is set at consultation according to your concern and how your skin responds.

Will a peel remove acne scars?

A peel addresses flat marks and discolouration left after acne, and can improve overall texture. Indented or pitted scars are a structural change in the skin and generally need microneedling or another approach. We will tell you which category your skin falls into.

Can a peel be combined with other treatments?

Often it forms part of a wider skin plan alongside prescribed skincare and treatments such as microneedling, though not usually on the same day. The sequence and spacing are planned at consultation.
