What Xela Rederm is, and how it differs from filler

Xela Rederm® is an injectable skin rejuvenation treatment that combines hyaluronic acid with succinic acid. It is delivered as a series of small microinjections across an area rather than placed in one spot to build shape.

This is the distinction that matters: a dermal filler restores volume and changes contour, whereas a skin booster like this one is aimed at how the skin behaves. The goal is hydration held within the skin, a smoother texture, and better elasticity, rather than a change in the shape of your face.

It is commonly considered for skin that reads as dehydrated, dull or tired, for fine lines and uneven texture, and for early loss of elasticity. Results build over a course of sessions rather than appearing at once, and how many sessions suit you is decided after your skin is assessed. Every product used at the clinic is registered for use in the UAE.

Areas commonly treated

Areas are chosen at consultation according to your skin and your goals. Not every area is treated in every plan.

Face

The most common area, for skin that looks dehydrated or dull, for fine lines and for uneven texture. Often planned as a course rather than a single session.

Neck and décolletage

Skin on the neck and chest is thinner and often shows sun exposure and crepiness earlier than the face, yet is regularly left out of a skincare routine.

Hands

Hands age visibly and are hard to conceal. Treatment here is aimed at hydration and skin quality rather than at volume.

What to expect

Small raised bumps at the injection points are normal immediately afterwards and usually settle within hours to a day. Mild redness or a small bruise can occur. Most people return to their usual activities shortly after the appointment.

Because the aim is skin quality rather than an immediate change in shape, the effect is gradual and cumulative. Results vary with your starting skin condition and the plan agreed with you.

  • Small bumps at injection points settle within hours to a day
  • Avoid strenuous exercise on the day
  • Avoid saunas and hot baths for 24 hours
  • Protect the area from strong sun

Xela Rederm — frequently asked questions

Is Xela Rederm a dermal filler?

No. A filler is placed to restore volume and change contour. Xela Rederm is a skin rejuvenation treatment aimed at hydration, texture and elasticity. If what you want is more volume in the cheeks or definition at the jaw, filler is the relevant treatment, not this.

Which areas can be treated?

Most often the face, and also the neck, décolletage and hands, depending on your plan. Which areas are appropriate for you is decided at consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your skin condition and what you want to improve. This is a treatment that works cumulatively, so it is normally planned as a short course with intervals between sessions rather than as a one-off.

Is there downtime?

Very little. The small bumps at the injection points are the main thing to expect and they usually settle within hours to a day. A small bruise is possible, so it is worth allowing a couple of days before an important event.

Does it hurt?

The injections are superficial and use a very fine needle, and most people describe brief stinging rather than pain. Tell us if you are sensitive and we will make you more comfortable.
